Media Coverage, the Cult of the Military & the Iraq War’s 5th Anniversary

Hearing pundits, journalists and military spokespeople analyze progress on the fifth anniversary of the Iraq invasion seems to me an exercise in selective memory, wishful thinking and just plain p.r. spin. When i hear the current situation compared to the most violent period of the insurgency I wonder what the average person’s life before 2003, people went to school, sat in cafes, lived in mixed neighborhoods and women for the most part went about their business without harassment. Was the former regime though brutal “making progress”.

to me that incursion into Ecuador seems like a U.S. inspired provocation
remember Columbia has been a client state for a while
with tens of billions of our dollars given to the right wing columbian goverment
ostensibly for drug eradication
but really it has been used for left wing eradication
